Paper Piecing for Beginners



Learn the basics of paper piecing while working with the new Scrappy Triangle foundation papers. These papers are a great way to learn and to use up scraps.  50 different 6” Scrappy half-square Triangle designs are included in this foundation pad, enough to make a 42” x 42” quilt.


Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: No experience necessary for this class. Must know how to use a sewing machine.

Requirements: Supplies needed for class - PAPER PIECING FOR BEGINNERS 1. Scrappy Triangles foundation papers - 6" finished block size 2. Fabric scraps to total approx. 2 yards or 6-12 fat quarters 3. 1 3/8 yards for background 4. Neutral colored thread to piece with 5. Sewing machine with extra needles and bobbins 6. Rotary cutter, small cutting mat (6” x 8” works great or small rotating mat). Optional but very helpful rulers -8 1/2" square or 8 1/2" x 24 1/2" ruler for cutting background, 6 1/2" square for trimming blocks, Add a Quarter ruler 6" or 12" 7. Notions – scissors, straight pins (Clover Flower head pins are my favorite), seam ripper

Instructor Bio: Cindy has been teaching classes at Quilter’s Cupboard for 16 years and enjoys sharing her tips and tricks. Her teaching style is casual and she just wants her students to have fun and learn new skills. No quilt police here!
