If you've ever had the desire to learn to make a quilt but did not know where to start, this is the class for you! Learn everything you need to know to get you on your way to successful quilt making in this four-week class. Start with fabric selection, rotary cutting, strip piecing and finish with layering and binding plus tips and tricks to use on future projects. CLUB: CHARITY SEWING

We need your help! Join us for our charity sewing projects and help those in need. We meet the 3rd Thursday of the month at 10:30am and 6:00pm. OCTOBER CHARITY - PILLOWCASES: Purchase fabric or a kit from us (or bring something from home) and we'll show you how to make a hot dog roll pillowcase. Machines provided or bring your own. NOVEMBER CHARITY - PROJECT LINUS: Help us make children's quilts to donate to Project Linus. If you have fabric to donate or finished quilts, that would be great! Machines provided or bring your own.

CLUB: GROOVY GIRLS - AM

Our most popular club is back for another 6 month session that runs November through April. It's just a fun way to spend an hour and learn something new. Cindy will show you new techniques, fabrics, patterns and tools. Who knows, you might even get a free pattern for our featured project. CLUB: STITCHERY CLUB

Hand embroidery is really popular again, and our club is the perfect place to get back into it. Our projects include stitchery and wool designs, and beginners are always welcome. We love to show you how to embroider! Bring a project you've gotten from us, or we'll help you pick out something new. Each month Carmen (our wonderful club leader) will share new projects and techniques. The meeting will be the 2nd Thursday of the month at 5:30 PM and will last 1 hour for extra stitching time! No charge, just call to reserve your spot.

**NEW KNIT-A-LONG**—BUILDING IN COLOR AFGHAN

Join us once a month to knit a beautiful colorwork afghan with Janet. It’s constructed from a series of panels, each building skills in a manageable-sized project. This class meets afternoon or evening once per month from September through July. Everyone will comment on this beauty displayed in your home! Must be intermediate knitter. This two-week series is for the absolute beginner and those who need a refresher. The course will cover casting on, knit, purl, simple stitch patterns, increase, decrease, fixing simple mistakes and binding off. Our project will be a dishcloth out of cotton yarn. KND: BRIOCHE KNITTING

Brioche knitting is a simple single– or multi-color technique that creates ridges and valleys, similar to K1P1 ribbing, but double-thick. The fabric created is reversible, making it perfect for scarves, shawls, and blankets for the upcoming cold months. In class, we will learn the technique of brioche knitting on a sample swatch. Once you practice, brioche will be as simple as ribbing. Prerequisites: For the advanced knitter who knows how to long tail cast on, bind off, knit, purl, consistently work to gauge. KND: BULKY MOEBIUS COWL

Need a quick Christmas gift? Here’s a quick project that you can accomplish in an evening, using bulky yarn. The Bulky Moebius Cowl knits up in a flash and works wonders in the cold winter months! Knit a short cowl to wrap around your neck or double it to wrap around your neck and over your ears. The Moebius cast-on and knitting is pretty simple, once you get it started correctly. KND: DOUBLE KNITTING

Double knitting is worked with two colors of yarn, producing an item that is double-thickness with two right sides (reversible). In class, we will create a potholder with two colors, each side will look knitted and the color patterns will be reversed. We will get started with this project in class, and then let you finish on your own. Give it a try. It’s easier than it appears. You can graduate to a reversible scarf that will keep you or your gift recipient warm during the cold winter days that always eventually occur. KND: FAIR ISLE CHRISTMAS STOCKING

Get ready for Christmas with this traditional knitted stocking. You will be making an heirloom to be treasured. During the class you will learn fair isle techniques, duplicate stitching, short row heel, turned under top hem, and magic loop. As an added bonus, you will not be afflicted with the second sock syndrome, unless every family member wants their own! Prerequisites: For the advanced knitter who knows how to cast-on, knit, purl, increase, decrease, work to a consistent gauge, and read knitting instructions and charts. KND: GAUGE FOR KNITTERS

Don’t you hate that everyone tells you to do a gauge swatch before you start your project? It seems like such a waste of good knitting time. But, you want your project to fit perfectly. Come join Jean to learn how and why it’s so important to make a gauge swatch and be able to measure it accurately. Prerequisites: For any knitter who has successfully completed a beginning knitting class, can cast-on, knit, purl, bind-off, and read basic knitting instructions. KND: MAGIC LOOP TOE-UP SOCKS (2 AT A TIME)

This class will teach you how to make socks using the magic loop method from the toe up. Both socks are made at the same time. You will learn the Turkish cast-on for a seamless toe, a very simple short-row heel method, and Elizabeth Zimmermann’s Sewn bind off. After completing this course, you will be able to use these three skills for almost any sock design you desire.
