QC: Beginning Quilting

If you've ever had the desire to learn to make a quilt but didn't know where to start, this is the class for you! Learn everything you need to know to “get you on your way” to successful quilt making in this four-week class. Start with fabric selection, rotary cutting, strip piecing and finish with layering and binding - plus tips and tricks to use on future projects. QC: BRAID RUNNER TABLERUNNER

This is a quick and easy table runner for beginner or intermediate sewers.  Want to learn the "quilt as you go" method, then this is the class for you. After piecing the quilt there is only binding left to do and the 17"x 52" table runner is done. Chose fabrics from light to dark to create a 3D effect. Tues. April 16 & 23 10-Noon Wed. Double knitting is worked with two colors of yarn, producing an item that is double-thickness with two right sides (reversible). In class, we will create a potholder with two colors, each side will look knitted and the color patterns will be reversed. We will get started with this project in class, and then let you finish on your own. Give it a try. It’s easier than it appears. This class will teach you how to make socks using the magic loop method from the toe up. Both socks are made at the same time. You will learn the Turkish cast-on for a seamless toe, a very simple short-row heel method, and Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Sewn bind off. KND: Top-Down Sock Using Magic Loop

-- Ready to learn magic loop? Want to learn how to make socks, too? This class will cover the basic parts of a classic top-down sock with heel flap and gusset.  As an added bonus, you will also learn how to knit using the magic loop method.
